DESCRIPTION:About this Event\n\n\nArtistic Activism combines the creative power of the arts to move us emotionally with the strategic planning of activism necessary to bring about social change. This #BlackHistoryMonth\, we’re diving into the intersection between art and movement\, collaborating and featuring incredible Black Canadian artists who use their talent to bring about change\, in their own ways. \nJoin us for a panel convo where we’ll go a little deeper into the underestimated power of the arts with our 3 featured artists from this month. \nWHO ARE THE ARTISTS? \nNITI MARCELLE MUETH is a multidisciplinary artist and independent artistic director. Moving fluidly between art and design-oriented practices\, she is invested in illustrating meaningful experiences revolving around the reflection on the experiences of individuals from BIPOC communities. Her multidisciplinary practice moves seamlessly between graphic design\, illustration\, screenprinting\, and animation. \nKEZNA DALZ is a nugget of sensibility that must be discovered in all her richness. Also known as TEENADULT\, she seeks in her paintings\, digital or more traditional illustrations to touch hearts through images. She unveils our sensibilities hidden behind masks\, amd reveals faces and shapes without superficial layers. A deep\, humane\, certainly sincere work. TEENADULT works a pop neo-expressionism with very clear messages: modern love complicates the relationship of beings together and with themselves. Her representations are mostly attached to Black women in their intamy\, in their solitary and loving dialogues\, social and political. Her work is for everyone without distinction\, in the consciousness of a human collective that cannot function in division. \nGLO is a graphic designer\, stylist\, and aspiring creative director. Her expressions are grounded in the pursuit of encouraging community\, introspection\, and a love for Hip Hop. Work wise\, she likes to combine her multi-disciplinary background with function-focused thinking in order to create engaging experiences. Curiosity\, forward-thinking\, and a sharp eye for design and style has led her work to gain recognition from: FADER\, the Toronto Star\, CTV News\, and Breakfast Television. Elle dévoile nos sensibilités cachées derrières des masques\, révèle et des visages et des formes sans couches superficielles. Un travail profond\, humain\, assurément sincère. TEENADULT oeuvre un néo-expressionnisme pop dont les messages sont on ne peut plus clairs : l’amour moderne complexifie les relations des êtres ensemble et avec eux-mêmes. ses représentations s’attachent majoritairement aux femmes noires dans leurs intimités\, dans leurs dialogues solitaires et amoureux\, sociaux et politiques. Son travail s’adresse à toustes\, sans distinction\, dans la conscience d’un collectif humain qui ne peut fonctionner dans la division. \nGLO est un graphiste\, styliste et directeur créatif. Ses expressions sont fondées sur la recherche d’encouragement à la communauté\, à l’introspection et à l’amour du hip hop. Côté travail\, elle aime combiner mon expérience multidisciplinaire avec une réflexion axée sur la fonction afin de créer des expériences engageantes. Curiosité\, avant-gardisme et sens aigu du design et du style ont conduit son travail à être reconnu par: FADER\, le Toronto Star\, CTV News et Breakfast Television.
