DESCRIPTION:Free Summer Lunch & Snack \nMonday-Friday \nLunch 12.00-1.00 PM Summer Only \nSnack 3.00-4.00 PM Year round \nAges 18 and under \nYouth meals will be available for dine in only at enclosed designated areas. Lunch and snack will be provided to youth participants only. \nCreated to help reduce the growing percentage of young people in the United States challenged by obesity or lack of consistent access to wholesome meals\, the program aims to provide a healthy alternative for students when school is out for the summer. In order for participating parks to qualify for the program\, they must service areas within the geographical boundaries of elementary\, middle\, or high school attendance areas with at least 50% of its students eligible for free or reduced-price school meals. \n*Please note that there will be no lunch and snack on June 20 and July 4.

DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\nUnited Way Day of Action is an annual\, nationally recognized day of service that turns our mission into action. United Way of Greater Los Angeles is partnering with Labor Community Services\, LA Food Bank\, Westside Coalition\, and Santa Monica City on June 25 to sponsor a day of volunteerism and an opportunity for community members to give back. \nWe are asking you to join us on Saturday\, June 25 at the Santa Monica airport as we dedicate time to support vulnerable families and individuals in our community. We are calling upon sponsors\, donors\, partners and others who are willing to help us assemble and distribute 800 meal kits\, PPE kits\, and other necessities to those most in need. \nPlease register at your earliest convenience as slots are limited to 75 people. \nWe encourage volunteers to represent your community organization (hat\, t-shirt\, etc.) Please wear comfortable\, closed-toe shoes. Please keep in mind that it is expected to be hot and sunny\, so sunscreen\, sunglasses\, hats and other forms of protection are encouraged. We will provide all volunteers with PPE (mask and gloves) and encourage you to bring your own safety vest should you have one. We will also provide coffee\, water and pastries…and music! \nVolunteer Arrival Time will be at 7:15 a.m.
