Lunch and snack will be provided to youth participants only. \nCreated to help reduce the growing percentage of young people in the United States challenged by obesity or lack of consistent access to wholesome meals\, the program aims to provide a healthy alternative for students when school is out for the summer. In order for participating parks to qualify for the program\, they must service areas within the geographical boundaries of elementary\, middle\, or high school attendance areas with at least 50% of its students eligible for free or reduced-price school meals. \n*Please note that there will be no lunch and snack on June 20 and July 4.

SUMMARY:VIRTUAL 40-HR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVOCATE TRAINING
DESCRIPTION:As required by state law California Evidence Code Section §1037.1(a)(1)\, all employees and volunteers who will be providing direct client services at any domestic violence service agency are required to receive 40 hours of training on domestic violence. WomenShelter offers this state-mandated 40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training several times each year. \nWe are offering our Summer 40-hour Domestic Violence Counselor Advocate Training through an online platform as a precaution and in adherence to current health/safety guidelines.\n\nThis upcoming training will be facilitated through an online format via Zoom. The training topics will remain the same as those covered during our in-person training\, including domestic violence 101\, trauma-informed care\, and resources/support for victims and survivors. \nThe training will begin on Tuesday\, July 12\, 2022\, and will end on Thursday\, August 04\, 2022. Training days will be held Tuesday\, and Thursday beginning at 09:00 am to 2:30 pm. \nMaterials and Zoom links will be provided prior to each training date. Participants are required to keep video feeds on and engage in active participation during all training times\, as well as ensuring a secure and reliable internet connection. Space is limited and on a first come\, first serve basis. \nPlease be aware you must complete the full 40 hours of training in order to receive your certificate of completion. DESCRIPTION:MADD California is excited to host our 2nd annual MADD TEEN INFLUENCER INSTITUTE! As substance abuse and traffic safety continue to be concerns\, we need our youth voices more than ever to help correct these harmful trends. \n\nYouth can join us weekly on Zoom TUESDAYS\, JULY 19TH TO AUGUST 16TH\, 2022 for this intensive 5-week program designed to train and develop peer-to-peer educators. Graduates will be prepared to represent MADD on a local and national level and provide the youth perspective for underage drinking prevention programming as MADD Teen Influencers.
