Transformative Transparency Exchange: Support for AAPI Journalists

Addressing racial blind spots and supporting Asian American and Pacific Islander journalists: Following the Atlanta shootings, the mainstream media needed deep guidance from experts like the Asian American Journalists Association on covering the Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander community fairly and accurately. For decades, AAPI journalists have seen newsrooms struggle to navigate coverage of AAPI communities, reflecting a dearth of AAPI leadership and lack of diversity within the newsrooms.

Join us in a conversation on how news leaders can mitigate their blind spots and better support their Asian American and Pacific Islander journalists, featuring Nicole Dungca (The Washington Post) and Jin Ding (The Associated Press).
