Keeping Up With #BlackLivesMatter

The APADRC family is here to provide emotional support to all sides of the #BlackLivesMatter protests in our Los Angeles community and related areas. This page serves as a hub to share resources, news, announcements, and other information about the ongoing situation. This week we hosted a dialogue for everyone to air their concerns and feelings. Stay tuned for more events like this one in the future by subscribing to our newsletter!

KNOW YOUR CURFEWS

Please check your local government office website for curfews in your neighborhood.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

  • On May 25,2020, George Floyd, a 46-year old African-American male, died during an altercation with police in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
  • Since then, there have been multiple instances of both peaceful and violent protests in metropolitan areas across the nation.
  • One of the police officers was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.
  • Numerous cities have imposed curfews.
  • The National Guard has been summoned to half the states and even Washington, D.C.
