Conversity 2013 Recap
The Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center held another successful awards reception and fundraiser on April 17, 2013.
People from the community, law firms, corporations and schools all came together to celebrate people who promoted peace and strengthened communities. Mr. Jae Whan Yoo from Wilshire State Bank, Dr. Faith Kim from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, and Mr. Ed Lew, Esq., President of OCA-Greater Los Angeles were recognized for the achievements they had in their fields as well as for what they gave back to the community.
Scholarships were given to Ashley Jones, a senior at King/Drew Magnet High School of Medicine and Science and to Lani Mojica, a senior at University High School. The Mistress of Ceremonies was Keiko Agena, a TV and film star who has been in The Gilmore Girls, Transformers 3, and recently in Scandal and Shameless. There were many wonderful silent auction packages that were donated by many generous businesses around Southern California. The funds raised from the event will allow APADRC to continue its peace work by providing free and low-cost mediation and conflict resolution services in the community and schools.
We hope to see you at future Conversity Fundraisers in the future!
