Do Good Bus TALKS Understanding Trauma

June 29, 2022 @ 6:30 am - 7:30 pm

Let’s TALK Understanding Trauma

We hear the word “trauma” A LOT these days. From the shared trauma of living through a global pandemic, the stripping of rights for many folx, and to the personal events and experiences individuals and families face outside of these large-scale events, trauma can result in various physical and emotional symptoms. When our brain characterizes certain stimuli as a threat, increasing the fight, flight, freeze response(s), we can experience mental health concerns and physical ailments that sometimes feel like they don’t make sense. During this talk, we’ll explore how these things definitely make sense by exploring what trauma actually is, how it affects the brain and body, what healing can look like, and some tools to begin or continue your healing journey. Healing from trauma is a complex, multifaceted process, which is personal and individual in many ways while absolutely requiring community and relational healing as well, so we hope to see you and connect with you at the Do Good Bus TALK.
